Dr. Tolullah Oni is a Clinical Professor at the University of Cambridge's School of Clinical Medicine and serves as a Public Health Physician at the MRC Epidemiology Unit. She concurrently holds the position of Extraordinary Professor at the University of Pretoria. Her medical training was completed at University College London, followed by a Masters in Public Health from the University of Cape Town and a doctorate in Clinical Epidemiology from Imperial College London.
Her transdisciplinary research focuses on urban epidemiology at the intersection of population health, urbanization and climate change. Key domains include food environments, built environments, air pollution, and developing healthy urban policies using systems approaches. She established the Research Initiative for Cities Health and Equity (RICHE) and founded UrbanBetter – a platform advancing evidence-informed urban health advocacy.
Dr. Oni leads the Global Diet and Physical Activity Research Group investigating meso/macro determinants of health behaviors in changing urban climates. Her current project, the UrbanBetter Cityzens for Clean Air Campaign, engages youth across African cities to collect air quality data and co-design advocacy strategies.
