Professor Tolib Mirzoev is a Professor of Global Health Policy at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, with appointments in the Department of Global Health and Development and Faculty of Public Health and Policy. His work focuses on health systems, health policies, and capacity strengthening across low- and middle-income countries.
Education includes:
- PhD from University of Leeds
- MA in Health Management Planning and Policy from University of Leeds
- Doctor of Medicine from Kirov Military Medical Academy
Research interests span three interconnected areas:
- Health policy analysis and evidence-informed policymaking
- Health systems assessment and responsiveness
- Capacity development and governance in resource-limited settings
His publications since 2024 predominantly explore themes of health systems responsiveness, mental health service delivery, and management of chronic diseases in West Africa and Vietnam. Articles demonstrate consistent focus on improving equity, accessibility, and quality of primary healthcare services.

As Principal Investigator of the NIHR Global Health Research Centre for Non-communicable Disease Control in West Africa (Stop-NCD), he leads multi-country teams in Ghana and Vietnam. He maintains advisory roles with WHO, World Bank, and UKRI funding committees.
