Michel Amenah

Michel Amenah is a doctoral researcher and quantitative researcher at Lancaster University (Faculty of Health and Medicine). His work focuses on Health Economics and Policy, with particular emphasis on non-communicable disease (NCD) control, adolescent/youth health, and sustainable development in low- and middle-income countries.

Education:

• BSc and MSc in Economics from the University of Ghana, providing expertise in economic theory, quantitative analysis, and policy evaluation.

Research Interests:

• Evaluation of primary healthcare systems for NCDs and adolescent mental/sexual health
• Universal health coverage and innovative healthcare financing
• Intersection of climate change, health, and employment in Africa
• Technical efficiency and financial risk protection in health systems

Collaborations: Partner with the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) on the Global Burden of Disease Project, and lead for Research and Policy at Rewrite to Build Africa, a sustainability think-and-do tank.
