Todd Bacile

Todd Bacile is an Associate Professor of Marketing and Merl M. Huntsinger Distinguished Professor in Investments and Finance at Loyola University New Orleans' College of Business. He holds a Ph.D. in Marketing from Florida State University (2013), an M.B.A. from Mississippi State University, and a B.S. in Management from Wayne State University. His research focuses on services marketing and digital marketing, particularly customer complaining, online incivility, service recovery, and digital information products. He serves on the editorial review board for the Journal of Services Marketing and Marketing Education Review.

Dr. Bacile is a renowned educator, winning multiple university-wide teaching awards at Loyola and Florida State University. He pioneered experiential learning methods, such as integrating Google Analytics and AdWords certifications into coursework, and received acclaim for his innovative use of social media metrics in grading. His teaching methodologies have been featured in The Chronicle of Higher Education and U.S. News & World Report.

His research explores how online interactions influence consumer behavior, including the impacts of incivility on service recovery and the shift of power dynamics in the information economy. He frequently presents at conferences like the American Marketing Association and Academy of Marketing Science, addressing topics like social media marketing, branding, and e-commerce.

Dr. Bacile’s recent work includes studies on neurocorrelates of online incivility, schadenfreude in service recovery, and linguistic styles in customer complaints.
