Toba Bryant is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Ontario Tech University. She holds a PhD and Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto. Her research focuses on social determinants of health, public policy, health inequalities, political economy, and neoliberalism's impact on welfare systems.
Education: PhD and MSW from University of Toronto.
Research Interests: Examines intersections of social policy, labor markets, and health equity through political economy frameworks. Key themes include welfare state restructuring, housing policy, and systemic drivers of health disparities. She critiques neoliberal policies and advocates for transformative public health approaches.
Grants & Collaborations: Co-Investigator on SSHRC-funded projects studying labor globalization and health policy (2018-2022). Principal Investigator of Atkinson Foundation's Decent Work Grant (2015). Collaborates with York University and FSSH/FEAS at Ontario Tech.
