Tina Seelig is the Executive Director of the Knight-Hennessy Scholars program at Stanford University, the largest endowed graduate fellowship globally. She also serves as Director Emerita of the Stanford Technology Ventures Program (STVP) and holds a Professor of the Practice title in the Department of Management Science and Engineering (MS&E). Her roles span academic leadership in entrepreneurship, creativity, and innovation at Stanford’s d.school and School of Engineering.
Dr. Seelig earned a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Stanford University School of Medicine, focusing on neuroplasticity. Her professional experience includes roles as a management consultant, multimedia producer, and founder of BookBrowser. She has authored 17 books and educational games, including What I Wish I Knew When I Was 20, inGenius: A Crash Course on Creativity, and Creativity Rules, which explore creativity, leadership, and idea implementation.
Her research interests emphasize creativity ecosystems, interdisciplinary problem-solving, and fostering innovative leadership. She has been recognized with prestigious awards such as the National Academy of Engineering’s Gordon Prize and the Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers Legacy Award. Her work has also been featured in a NHK-produced TV series in Japan.
Dr. Seelig’s contributions extend to teaching, mentorship, and institutional service. She advises on graduate education and has led initiatives to build multicultural academic communities. Her legacy includes shaping entrepreneurial education and promoting global leadership through programs like Knight-Hennessy Scholars.
