Dr. Tina Kowalski is a Senior Lecturer in Human Resource Management at the University of York, affiliated with the School for Business and Society. She holds a PhD from the University of Edinburgh (2013) investigating social support and employee wellbeing, alongside a BA in Psychology (University of Newcastle) and MSc in Health Psychology (Queen Margaret University). A Fellow of the Higher Education Academy since 2017, her research focuses on employee health, psychosocial work environments, and the impact of technology/social media on wellbeing. She leads projects funded by the ESRC, including a seminar series on 'Sustaining employee wellbeing in the 21st century.' Her work bridges academia and industry, collaborating with businesses to enhance workplace wellbeing strategies.

Research Interests: Her work examines how organizational change, technology adoption, and HR policies affect employee wellbeing. She employs qualitative methods like diary studies and mixed-methods approaches to explore topics such as older workers' experiences, boundary spanning technologies (e.g., social media), and the effectiveness of wellbeing interventions. Recent projects include analyzing extended shift impacts on healthcare workers and small business support needs in North Yorkshire.
