Timothy Liu is an Assistant Professor in the English Department at SUNY New Paltz. A poet and literary scholar, he teaches creative writing, contemporary American poetry, and Asian-American literature. His work explores themes of identity, desire, and cultural hybridity through innovative poetic forms.

Liu has published numerous poetry collections that examine LGBTQ experiences, cultural displacement, and spiritual inquiry. Honors include multiple Pushcart Prizes, Lambda Literary Award nominations, and fellowships from the John Ciardi Foundation. He has judged prestigious literary awards including the Publishing Triangle Awards and served on editorial boards for poetry journals.
