Andrea Holland is an Associate Professor in Creative Writing at the University of East Anglia, affiliated with the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and the School of Literature, Drama and Creative Writing. She leads the Creative Writing Research Group and holds an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Massachusetts, a BA in English from SUNY, and a Diploma in Higher Education from UEA.
Her research explores interdisciplinary connections between poetry, visual arts, and cultural studies, with focus areas including collaborative practice, 20th-century women's writing, American cultural studies, and hybrid literary forms. Her scholarly work examines poetic responses to social issues and innovative writing methodologies.
Her publications demonstrate consistent engagement with contemporary poetry forms and social commentary, evolving from foundational explorations of collaborative practice to recent experimental works addressing modern societal challenges. Key thematic developments include examinations of cultural displacement, artistic responses to global crises, and formal innovations in poetic expression.
