Timothy B. Vasko is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Religion and the Human Rights Program at Barnard College. His research focuses on the intersection of religion, political philosophy, and colonial history.

His research examines how modern political philosophies acquired religious dimensions post-1492, particularly through the construction of 'the indigene' as a political and spiritual figure. This work addresses colonial legacies and contemporary resistance practices.
Professor Vasko has published in journals such as Settler Colonial Studies and Contemporary Political Theory, and has contributed to the edited volume Politics of African Anticolonial Archives. He has received fellowships from the Newberry Library and the American Philosophical Society.
