Timon Sengewald

Timon Sengewald is a Researcher and Doctoral Student at the Chair of Information Systems I, Innovation and Value Creation at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. His work focuses on digital innovation ecosystems, open innovation dynamics, and smart city governance. He holds a B.Sc. in Business Studies from FAU and Kwansei Gakuin University, and an M.Sc. in International Information Systems (IIS) from FAU. He co-founded YEARBOOK FACTORY and lectures at the RRZE IT training centre.

His research explores citizen-driven innovation, digital platforms' impact on power dynamics, and municipal climate action planning. He has contributed to projects such as IIP-Ecosphere (AI-driven production systems) and Resilience by orchestrating citizen-driven innovation. Awards include the 2024 ACM SIGMIS Best Work-in-Progress Paper (Runner-up) and a 2022-2023 SIGMIS grant.

Key areas of focus include AI literacy education, equity in municipal planning, and service systems engineering. He actively reviews for top conferences like ECIS and ICIS and serves as a session chair for SIGMIS CPR 2024.
