Tim Ozcan is an Associate Professor of Marketing and Wampler-Longacre Professor of Marketing at the James Madison University (JMU) College of Business. He holds a Ph.D. in Marketing from the University of Rhode Island (2008), an M.B.A. in Marketing from the University of Tampa (2002), and a B.S. in Business Administration from Mugla University (1999). His research focuses on numerical cognition, consumer goal-setting frameworks, framing effects, and experimental design in marketing contexts.

His research explores how numerical cues, brand gender stereotypes, and goal-specific framing influence consumer decisions. Notable contributions include studies on organic product spoilage perception, numerical roundness effects on subgoal completion, and disproportionate negativity bias toward female brands.
Recent awards include the 2024 Applied Publication Award and 2023 JMU Dean’s Impact Award. He currently serves as Director of the CoB Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program and Co-Chair of the College of Business Research Advancement (COBRA).
His work bridges theoretical insights with practical marketing strategies, emphasizing data-driven approaches to consumer behavior analysis.
