Dr. Tim Murphy is a researcher affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine & Health at the University of New South Wales. His work focuses on the mechanisms of blood flow autoregulation in tissues, particularly examining myogenic and metabolic responses in arterioles.
- Research Interests: Autoregulation of blood flow, myogenic mechanisms (pressure-induced arteriolar diameter changes), metabolic mechanisms (response to metabolic products), and the impact of obesity and diabetes on small artery function.
- Expertise: Cardiology, Vascular Disease, Pharmacology, Physiology, Vascular Biology, Microcirculation, and Vascular Remodeling.
Supervision: Dr. Murphy supervises PhD, MSc, BSc (Honours), and ILP students, currently mentoring Nathan Luque.
