Tim Mirabito is an Assistant Professor in the Broadcast and Digital Journalism Department at Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. He teaches multimedia journalism and focuses on contemporary television newsroom dynamics, including newsgathering, burnout, and leadership. His research includes a seminal study on The New York Times’ response to 9/11 in its sports section.

Advising/Grants: Prior to academia, Mirabito worked in television, radio, print, and online media, including roles in minor league baseball and college athletics. He has held faculty positions at Ithaca College (Department Chair and Associate Professor) and Marist College, and was an Adjunct Professor at the University of Miami.
Labs/Teams: Serves on the editorial board of Sport Management Education Journal. Active in the National Communication Association and International Association for Communication and Sport.
