Dennis Deninger is an Emmy award-winning Professor at Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, specializing in the Television, Radio and Film department. With a career spanning 25 years at ESPN and authorship of Sports on Television: The How and Why Behind What You See, his work bridges live sports production, digital media innovation, and educational media development.
Deninger's research interests focus on Sports Communications and Television Production, particularly emphasizing live event coverage across six continents and the use of digital platforms. His documentaries America’s First Sport (2013) and Changing Sports, Changing Lives (2014) explore sports culture and adaptive sports for persons with disabilities, reflecting his commitment to both academic and practical media advancements.
