John Anderson is a Professor and holds the Leonard H. Goldenson Endowed Chair in Radio and Television Journalism at the University of Missouri School of Journalism. He joined the faculty in January 2025 after a 25-year career as an anchor on ESPN's SportsCenter, alongside co-hosting ABC's Wipeout for seven seasons. His career includes anchoring major global sporting events such as the Olympic Games, Super Bowl, NBA Finals, and U.S. Open Golf. Anderson graduated from the University of Missouri in 1987 with a bachelor's degree in journalism and was a four-year member of the university's track team, competing in high jump.
