Tim Kuhlmann

Tim Kuhlmann is a researcher and academic affiliated with the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Rostock (hmt Rostock). Since February 2023, he has served as a scientific researcher at the Rostock office of the Erich Wolfgang Korngold Edition. He holds a background in music theory, music education, and German studies from Hanover, and has taught at institutions including the Universities of Hanover, Rostock, and Detmold.

At hmt Rostock, he teaches Musiktheorie (music theory), Gehörbildung (aural training), Partiturkunde (score studies), Instrumentenkunde (instrument studies), and Akustik (acoustics). His research focuses on instrumentation (particularly early 20th-century works), instrument science, musical analysis, basso continuo/partimento practices, and editorial philology.
