Oliver Krämer

Oliver Krämer is a Professor of Music Education/Music Didactics at the University of Music and Theatre Rostock since 2009. He holds a leadership role as a board member of the state-wide Center for Teacher Education at the University of Rostock. From 2010–2019, he served as spokesperson for the Institute of Musicology and Music Education. Notably, he acted as interim rector of his institution from November 2019 to August 2020.

His research focuses on music listening in educational contexts, curriculum development, and empirical studies on teacher training programs. He pioneered the PrOBe project under the LEHREN in MV initiative, establishing a practical school year and mentoring networks for music teacher education. He organized the 2015 European Association for Music in Schools conference, blending educational and cultural outreach.

Since 2003, he has contributed to music framework curricula for Berlin, Brandenburg, and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. His affiliations include the Working Group on Music Pedagogical Research (AMPF), Society for Music Education (GMP), and European Association for Music in Schools (EAS).
