Ina Driemel

Dr. Ina Driemel is a Researcher at the Institute of Musicology, Music Education and Theatre Education, Hochschule für Musik und Theater Rostock since November 2021. She leads the MA program 'Lateral Entry into Theatre for Teaching/Drama'. Previously, she worked as a Research Assistant at Europa Universität Flensburg and conducted research at the DFG Graduate School 'Knowledge of the Arts' at Berlin University of the Arts (2015-2018), focusing on the role of theatre pedagogy in socio-cultural youth development. She has extensive experience in freelance theatre education, including directing the model project 'Theatre Education in Juvenile Correctional Services' and contributing to the Berliner Festspiele's 'Theatertreffen der Jugend' advanced training program since 2008.

Her research interests center on critical theatre pedagogy, youth socio-cultural dynamics, and inclusive educational practices. She co-founded the 'Critical Theatre Pedagogy Working Group', a network supporting young academics, and is a member of the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania State Association for Theatre in Education. Her work bridges academic research with practical applications in social and educational settings.
