Her office is located in Room H 105 at the Hofstallstraße building, and she holds consultation hours by appointment. As one of the most celebrated violinists of her generation, Professor Yang maintains an active performance schedule while contributing to the academic training of future musicians.
Professor Yang's research and performance interests center on expanding the boundaries of violin repertoire through meticulous interpretation of both classical and contemporary works. Her artistic approach combines technical precision with profound musical understanding, particularly evident in her exploration of composers ranging from Ysaÿe and Sarasate to Rihm and Prokofiev. Her performances demonstrate exceptional versatility across different historical periods and stylistic approaches to violin performance.
Professor Yang's recorded output reveals a progressive trajectory from virtuosic showpieces to more substantial concertante works and contemporary compositions. Her early recordings focused on technically demanding solo repertoire, while her recent work demonstrates increasing engagement with 20th and 21st century compositions. This evolution reflects both artistic maturation and a commitment to expanding the violin repertoire through commissioning and premiering new works.
