Christianne Stotijn

Professor Christianne Stotijn is a Dutch mezzo-soprano and professor of singing at the University of Music Würzburg since October 2021. She serves as Deputy Spokesperson for Vocals and Commissioner for Equal Opportunities for Women in Science and the Arts at the university.

Born in Delft, she studied violin and singing at the Utrecht and Amsterdam conservatories before focusing on vocal performance. She worked with renowned instructors Udo Reinemann and Dame Janet Baker, establishing herself as a distinguished artist with international recognition.

Professor Stotijn is celebrated as a passionate lieder singer who has performed in prestigious concert halls worldwide with musical partners Joseph Breinl and Julius Drake. She has collaborated with major ensembles including the Berliner Philharmonie, Orchestre National de France, and Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. Her artistic work spans both classical repertoire and contemporary compositions, with numerous premieres dedicated to her.

As artistic director of the 'Udo Reinemann International Masterclasses' in Brussels since 2013, she mentors emerging vocal artists. She has also established her own foundation to broaden audiences for vocal music through innovative concert formats that engage children and new audiences.
