Prof. Thorsten Moos holds the Chair of Systematic Theology (Ethics) at the Faculty of Theology, University of Heidelberg. His academic career includes roles as Professor for Diaconal Studies at Kirchliche Hochschule Wuppertal/Bethel (2017-2021) and directorship of the Institute for Diaconal Science. He completed a diploma in theoretical physics before transitioning to Protestant theology studies. His research spans bioethics, medical ethics, theological engagement with empirical sciences, and the intersection of theology with law and politics. Current projects include ethics of synthetic biology, digital animism, and public health ethics.
