Thomas Valentino is an adjunct professor in the Music Business department at Berklee College of Music. As an entertainment attorney and founder of The Counsel, PLLC, he provides legal and strategic advice to artists, publishers, and media entities, specializing in music publishing catalog transactions and copyright law. He has negotiated contracts with major publishing companies like Sony/ATV, Universal, and BMG. Valentino is also the founder of Zen Bulldog Entertainment, a film/TV music joint venture with BMG, and a shareholder in the Zach Sang Show syndicated radio program. He actively advocates for songwriter royalties, successfully influencing copyright legislation, and has advised artists including Kid Rock and Elton John. His legal career includes a Hofstra University law degree and clerkship under New York’s Court of Appeals.
