Prof. Dr. Thomas Thiemeyer is a Professor of Museum Studies at the Ludwig-Uhland-Institut für Empirische Kulturwissenschaft, University of Tübingen. He holds a PhD from 2010 on WWII museum presentations and previously worked as a curator at HG Merz, contributing to the Mercedes-Benz and Porsche Museums. His research focuses on museum practices, memorial culture, and the intersection of AI with cultural institutions. Current projects include studies on colonial collections, Holocaust remembrance, and the societal impact of AI in Tübingen. He has authored/co-edited books like Das Depot als Versprechen and Geschichte im Museum, and leads DFG-funded initiatives such as 'The Depot as Promise' and 'From the Era of the Witness to Digital Remembrance.'
