Dr. Thomas Polett is a Professor of Music and Chair of Instrumental Music at Aquinas College. With over thirty years of experience, he is an active performer on trombone and euphonium, having played with orchestras including Quincy (IL), Southeast Iowa, and Arizona Ballet. He previously taught at Culver-Stockton College, Limestone College, and Georgia College and State University.

Research Interests: Dr. Polett specializes in brass performance (trombone/euphonium), jazz improvisation, orchestral/chamber music, and music pedagogy. His work emphasizes practical applications in conducting and music education, with cross-cultural engagement from teaching/performing in 20+ countries.
Publications & Presentations: He has published in the International Trombone Association Journal, Tuba and Euphonium Brotherhood Association Journal, and Journal of Performing Arts Leadership in Higher Education. Regularly presents at venues like the International Trombone Festival and College Music Society Conference.
