Thomas Mohr is Associate Professor at University College Dublin School of Law, teaching constitutional law, legal history, jurisprudence, and evidence. He holds degrees from NUI Galway (BA, LLB) and University College Dublin (MA, PhD).
Research focuses on Irish legal history and constitutional development:
- Constitutional evolution of the Irish Free State
- British imperial law and Irish sovereignty
- Historical analysis of legal institutions
Publications examine treaty negotiations, judicial systems, and constitutional frameworks during Ireland's transition to independence. Recent work analyzes media roles in constitutional formation and the legal consequences of the Anglo-Irish Treaty.
Professional activities include roles as Book Review Editor for Irish Jurist, Vice President of the Irish Legal History Society, and committee membership with the Royal Irish Academy. Grants include OBRSS Research Support Scheme and Irish Research Council funding.
