Thomas J. Miceli is a Professor of Economics at the University of Connecticut's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Department of Economics. He has been affiliated with UConn since 1987 and holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Brown University (1988) and a B.A. from Wesleyan University. His research focuses on Law and Economics, particularly eminent domain, crime economics, and the interplay between state and religion. He has authored three books on eminent domain and co-edited works in legal economics.

Teaching & Service: Teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in microeconomics, law and economics, and urban economics. Serves as Associate Editor of the International Review of Law and Economics. Advises students on topics spanning legal economics and policy.
Publications: Over 150 articles and books, including seminal works on eminent domain, crime deterrence, and the economic foundations of legal systems. Recent work explores peacekeeping institutions, Bayesian crime models, and the origins of theocratic governance.
