Debbie Becher is an Associate Professor of Sociology at Barnard College. Her work bridges Urban Sociology, Economic Sociology, and the Sociology of Law, focusing on property-governing institutions, investment logics, and public-private tensions in urban contexts. She has received prestigious awards for her contributions to socio-legal scholarship.
