Thomas Little is the Richardson Professor of American History and Chair of the History Department at Emory Henry College. He holds the C. Lee Richardson, Sr., and Mahala Reeves Richardson Chair of American History. His research focuses on southern, early American, Caribbean, and Atlantic history, with a particular emphasis on religious revivalism and colonial institutional development. He leads the Appalachian Oral History Project and is engaged in applied historical research funded by initiatives like the Appalachian College Association.

His academic contributions include influential works like The Origins of Southern Evangelicalism (2013) and essays in journals like Church History and Slavery and Abolition. Recent research explores the Church of England’s role in prerevolutionary British America, culminating in his upcoming book Anglican Christianization in the Prerevolutionary Atlantic World.
