Kevin Hardwick is a Professor in the Department of History at James Madison University (JMU). He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Maryland. His research focuses on Early American intellectual history, the Atlantic world, and Anglo-American political philosophy, with particular attention to political thought in the early U.S. Republic and the ratification of the Constitution.
His publications include edited volumes on American political thought and slavery debates, as well as scholarly articles on figures like James Wilson and Edmund Randolph. He serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Anglican and Episcopal History and previously contributed to the Burr Prize Committee.
Hardwick teaches courses on Anglo-American constitutional thought and the Atlantic world. His work bridges historical analysis with political philosophy, emphasizing the intellectual foundations of the U.S. legal and political systems.
