Brent S. Sirota is Associate Professor of History at NC State University and Director of Graduate Programs. Specializing in British religious and political history, he holds an M.A. in Religious Studies and Ph.D. in History from the University of Chicago. His scholarship examines the Church of England's role in shaping imperial governance and Atlantic world establishment.
Research focuses on Anglican political theology during dynastic transitions, particularly the Hanoverian succession's impact across the British Empire. Current book projects analyze established churches in revolutionary Atlantic contexts. His monograph The Christian Monitors received the John Ben Snow Prize for British Studies.
Fellowships from NEH and Huntington Library support archival research. He teaches British political thought, Tudor-Stuart England, and historical methods while serving on editorial boards for religious history publications.
