Thomas J. Chemmanur is a Professor of Finance at Boston College's Carroll School of Management. He has held previous academic positions at Columbia University, MIT, NYU, and Duke University. His research spans corporate finance, entrepreneurial finance, innovation, and applied game theory, with a focus on IPOs, venture capital contracts, institutional trading, and corporate governance. He has organized major conferences like the Entrepreneurial Finance and Innovation Around the World Conference and co-edits journals including the Journal of Banking and Finance. Recent work explores investor attention dynamics, real options in capital budgeting, and the role of antitakeover provisions in innovation.
