Dr. Thomas Hoyland is a Reader in Human Resource Management and Organisational Behaviour at the University of Hull, affiliated with the Hull University Business School within the Faculty of Business, Law and Politics. He holds a PhD in Management (2010-2012). His expertise spans leadership development, organizational change, employee engagement, and EDI. He teaches modules such as Leadership Behaviour and Psychology in the EMBA program.
Research interests include leadership self-perceptions, cross-cultural leadership, and the impact of diversity on organizational outcomes. He has advised on employee engagement and culture for multinational corporations and SMEs. His work explores themes like mentoring in SMEs, innovation in R&D teams, and expatriate performance in global contexts.
Dr. Hoyland has supervised numerous PhD students focusing on leadership dynamics, organizational climates, and knowledge sharing mechanisms. His publications address topics ranging from gender roles in leadership to cultural diversity's role in innovation.
