Dr Juliet Kele is a Lecturer in Human Resource Management (HRM) at the University of York’s School for Business and Society. She previously held academic positions at Newcastle Business School (Northumbria University), the University of Birmingham, and the University of Leeds, where she completed her PhD under an ESRC Fellowship. Her roles include EDI Champion for her school, Postgraduate Admissions Tutor for Business and Management, and Programme Leader for the upcoming MSc Human Resource Management (2025).
Her research focuses on intersectionality theory applied to EDI, career progression inequalities, inclusive leadership, and organisational cultures in SMEs. She has been recognized for her teaching excellence, including a Dean’s Award (2018) and a 2023 Academic Professional Apprenticeship Distinction. Her work spans peer-reviewed articles in Gender, Work & Organisation, British Journal of Management, and Personnel Review, with a particular emphasis on retail sector dynamics and employer branding.
Teaching responsibilities include leading the Management in the Twenty-First Century module and contributing to organisational behaviour courses. She actively supervises PhD candidates exploring EDI-related topics and advocates for intersectional pedagogical approaches in business education.
