Dr. Seemab Farooqi is a Lecturer in Human Resource Management (Teaching & Research) at the University of Dundee Business School. She serves as the Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Coordinator, leading the School’s EDI Action Plan and coordinating initiatives with University-wide efforts. Previously, she taught at the Universities of Loughborough and Stirling. She holds a PhD in Management from the University of Stirling, focusing on decentralized service delivery in Pakistan's local government reforms. Her academic career spans 15 years, emphasizing innovative teaching methods in Management, Marketing, and HRM modules. She also supervises PhD and Professional Doctorate students.
Dr. Farooqi’s research interests include public policy, performance management, digital business, entrepreneurship, and inclusion. Current projects explore FinTech’s role in financial/social inclusion and the impact of the pandemic on social enterprises and SMEs. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) and a member of CIPD. She actively participates in the Scotland Can Do Collective, contributing to entrepreneurial ecosystem development and resilience leadership initiatives.
Her administrative roles include International Lead for Pakistan, Go-Aboard Coordinator for Marketing/Management, and Accessibility Lead for the School of Business. She contributes to the University’s Athena Swan Self-Assessment Team and Inclusive Curriculum Design Steering Group. Awards include the 2019 Emerald Best Reviewer Award and selection for the Resilient Leadership Programme (2021-22).
Teaching modules include Strategic HRM, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation. She has organized seminars and webinars, such as a FinTech knowledge exchange between Scotland and Pakistan. Her work integrates academic-industry linkages and public engagement, reflecting her dedication to impactful research and inclusive education.
