Dr. Aidan McKearney is a Professor at Hult International Business School, specializing in management and human resource practices. His academic career spans over two decades, with prior roles at the University of North London, Guildhall School of Business and Law (LMU), and London South Bank University (LSBU), where he served as Head of Department (HOD). He has held leadership roles in postgraduate studies, EDI initiatives, and course direction. His research focuses on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI), global talent management, employee voice dynamics, and LGBTQ+ workplace experiences.
Dr. McKearney holds a management degree from Trinity College Dublin and transitioned from executive roles in the hotel sector and recruitment to academia in 2002. He actively bridges academia and industry through his work with the CIPD, organizing panel debates on topics like strategic EDI and global talent management. His teaching spans modules such as Strategic HRM, Employee Engagement, and Research Methods.
His research themes include fostering inclusive workplace cultures, the impact of national culture on employee voice, and LGBTQ+ citizenship challenges in rural regions. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles, emphasizing cross-cultural comparisons of voice mechanisms, temporary workers' rights, and LGBTQ+ inclusion in diverse contexts.
