Thomas Hare is an Undergraduate Lecturer at the University at Buffalo School of Law, where he teaches courses such as Law 101 and Law 301. Previously, he served as an Assistant Professor of Business Law at St. Bonaventure University (2020–2022), teaching undergraduate and MBA students. He is a licensed attorney in New Mexico with six years of litigation experience, including service as a Public Defender (2014–2015). He also held roles as a substitute teacher in Sidney, Montana (2017–2018), a program coordinator with the Boys & Girls Club of Richland County (2017), and a Border Patrol Agent (U.S. Border Patrol Academy graduate). Additionally, he worked as an auditor for the U.S. Air Force Audit Agency.
Education: J.D. from University of Arkansas School of Law; LL.M. from Wayne State University Law School; Master’s in Taxation from University of New Orleans; Bachelor’s in Accounting (magna cum laude) from Alabama A&M University.
Research focuses on business law, securities regulation, and employment law. His teaching emphasizes legal reasoning and American legal institutions.
