Professor Theodore Vurdubakis is a faculty member at the Management School of Lancaster University Management School (LUMS), serving as Professor of Organisation and Technology and Director of the Centre for Technological Futures. He teaches undergraduate courses on Business Ethics and Management Environments, as well as postgraduate modules on Information Technology, Organisations, and 21st-Century Organisational Dynamics.
Education: PhD (Manchester University), MSc (UMIST), BA (Athens University). His career includes 15 years of teaching at UMIST prior to LUMS.
Research Focus: Examines the interplay between technology and social organisation, particularly in enterprise systems like ERP. Current ESRC-funded research explores Knowledge Management and ERP systems with Damian O’Doherty and Chris Westrup. Active in conferences on organizational studies, technology ethics, and innovation.
Advising: Supervises PhD students Colin Hill (Centre for Technological Futures) and Hannah Jackson (Centre for Productivity and Innovation). Research affiliations include the Centre for Science Studies and MSF Supervisors 2019/20.
Labs/Teams: Leads the Centre for Technological Futures, focusing on speculative and applied research in technology’s societal impacts.
