Theo Kolivakis

Dr. Theo Kolivakis serves as Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery at McGill University, affiliated with The Neuro (Montreal Neurological Institute-Hospital). He holds key clinical positions including Clinical Coordinator of the Schizophrenia Tertiary Services clinic and co-director of the Neuromodulation Clinic at the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC).

His research focuses on:

• Neuromodulation techniques (transcranial magnetic stimulation, deep brain stimulation) for treatment-resistant psychiatric disorders
• Pharmacotherapy of mood disorders and schizophrenia
• Clinical management of neuropsychiatric illnesses

Dr. Kolivakis actively teaches medical students and residents while contributing to academic governance through membership on the MUHC Research Ethics Board, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada's psychiatry examination panel, and the Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology Committee. From 2010-2019, he served on leadership committees of the Association des Médecins Psychiatres du Québec.

In clinical practice, he specializes in neuromodulation, psychopharmacology, chronic treatment-resistant schizophrenia, and neuropsychiatry within The Neuro's movement disorders team and the MUHC's Neuromodulation Clinic.
