Thang B. Hoang

Dr. Thang B. Hoang is an Associate Professor at the University of Memphis, Department of Physics and Materials Science. His research focuses on materials science and nanophotonics, employing spectroscopic techniques such as photoluminescence (PL), Raman, and time-resolved PL to study optical and electronic properties of nanomaterials. He previously held roles as a research fellow with the Norwegian Research Council and EU's FP7 program, and as a research scientist at Duke University. His work explores light-matter interactions at the nanoscale, integrating nanomaterials with optical platforms for applications in optical communications, sensing, and energy harvesting. Dr. Hoang leads the Electronic and Photonic nanoMaterials Laboratory, advancing research in 2D materials, plasmonic devices, and quantum photonics.
