معرفی
Terry Senior is a Principal Research Fellow at the Centre for Sports Engineering Research (CSER), co-leading the AWRC’s Research and Development for Business Pillar and managing the Accelerator programme. He specializes in designing, building, and evaluating sports engineering products, collaborating closely with the UK Sports Institute to enhance athlete performance through innovative solutions. His work focuses on equipment design, performance monitoring, and translating research into practical applications for elite athletes.
Research interests include injury prevention (e.g., rugby/football stud lacerations, snowboarding wrist guard efficacy), biomechanics, materials testing, and sports equipment optimization. He supervises PhD students, notably卞Oudshoorn on stud laceration injuries, and received the 2017 Inspirational PhD Research Supervisor award.
Publications span sports engineering journals, addressing topics like helmet test systems, cricket bat moment of inertia, and auxetic foam applications. His work bridges academia and industry, supporting global partners like FIFA and Adidas. Terry also manages laboratory operations, coordinates MSc activities, and serves as the department’s health and safety officer.
Collaborators include the English Institute of Sport and the International Tennis Federation, emphasizing CSER’s four core disciplines: applied computing, biomechanics, design engineering, and skill acquisition.
