Dr. Terry Ferns is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Health Sciences at the University of Greenwich, affiliated with the Faculty of Education, Health and Human Sciences. His clinical expertise lies in critical care nursing, and he specializes in pathophysiology and acute patient management. He has held roles such as coordinator for post-registration and pre-registration courses, including Pathophysiology for Intensive Care Practice and Challenging Professional Boundaries. Terry joined the university in 2003 and has extensive experience in clinical education and practice.
Qualifications: RN, BSc (Hons), MA, EdD.
Research and teaching focus on pathophysiology, clinical assessment, nursing education, and contemporary issues like power dynamics, leadership, and multi-professional collaboration. He also teaches Research Methodologies and Change Management.
Prior roles include clinical positions in critical care units across London and Edinburgh, including Senior Staff Nurse and Bank Nurse roles at Guys and St Thomas Hospital. He has been a Lecturer Practitioner and part of Staff Development Teams in healthcare institutions.
Responsibilities include coordinating courses, fulfilling the role of Link Tutor with partner organizations, and addressing topics such as violence and aggression in clinical settings.
