Kathryn Warren

Kathryn Warren is a Senior Lecturer in Advanced Practice at Sheffield Hallam University, specializing in Adult Nursing education. With an extensive clinical background in Acute and Critical Care Nursing, she previously served as Intensive Care Nursing Sister and Critical Care Outreach Sister, co-initiating the first Critical Care Outreach Team in North Trent and contributing to the development of STHFT's Early Warning Score (SHEWS).

Her clinical focus centered on identifying, assessing, and managing deteriorating patients across acute settings, while her current role involves inspiring nursing students to deliver high-quality clinical care. She teaches Pre-Registration, Post-Registration, Interprofessional, and International courses at levels 4–7, mentoring students from Sheffield Hallam and partner organizations.

Kathryn holds qualifications including RGN (Registered General Nurse), ENBCC (Enrolled Nurse in Critical Care), ENB (Enrolled Nurse Branch), NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) registration, FHEA (Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy), and a BA (Hons) degree. Her work emphasizes mentoring future clinicians, specialist nurses, advanced practitioners, clinical leaders, academics, and researchers.
