Ted Becker

Ted Becker is a Clinical Professor of Law and Director of the Legal Practice Program at the University of Michigan School of Law. With a background in telecommunications arbitration and appellate litigation, he focuses on practical legal training and legal writing pedagogy.

• Education: BA from University of Michigan; JD summa cum laude from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign

His scholarship centers on legal writing, transactional drafting, and transferability of legal skills. Recent publications analyze pandemic-era legal education and the integration of deal-making skills in law school competitions. Becker co-organizes the Transactional Law Competition and serves on legal writing survey committees.

He also co-counsels in civil rights cases and collaborates on constitutional law scholarship related to Fourth Amendment protections for juveniles.
