Jeff Anderson is a Professor of Law and Director of the Legal Research and Writing (LRW) Program at Cumberland School of Law, Samford University. He teaches Civil Procedure, LRW, and Legislation. His career includes 19 years of legal practice as a federal prosecutor, appellate litigator, and law clerk to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. He holds a JD/MA (legal history) from the University of Virginia and a BA in history and political science from Furman University.

Research focuses on appellate practice, federal courts, legal history, and statutory interpretation. Recent publications analyze procedural principles in appellate litigation and civil procedure frameworks.
