Tara DuVal

Tara DuVal is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center, specializing in geriatric medicine. She is affiliated with the Division of Geriatric Medicine and serves as a member of the Clinical Competency Committee. Her clinical practice includes adult preventive medicine, house calls, and in-clinic care.

Education:

• Bachelor’s in Neurobiology and Behavior from Cornell University
• Medical Degree from Royal College of Surgeons, Dublin, Ireland
• Residency in Internal Medicine at Baystate Medical Center
• Clinical Fellowship in Geriatrics at UT Southwestern

Research & Teaching: Dr. DuVal focuses on geriatric care, including elder abuse detection, functional assessment, and medical education. She instructs medical/graduate students and trains fellows in clinical geriatrics. She is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both geriatrics and general internal medicine.

Professional Involvement: Active member of the American Geriatrics Society, serving on the Resident Education Sub-Committee.
