Tanya Maggi serves as the Dean of Community Engagement and Professional Studies at New England Conservatory of Music. She is a leader in redefining the role of musicians in communities, founding the Conservatory’s Community Performances and Partnerships Program in 2003. Her work focuses on leveraging music for social change, collaborating with organizations such as the Panama Jazz Festival, Clarinets for Conservation in Tanzania, and Boston Hope Music. She holds a BA from Oberlin College, MM from the University of Akron, AD from Brandeis University, and a Certificate in Nonprofit Management and Leadership from Tufts University.
