Tanya Halsall is an Adjunct Research Professor in the Department of Neuroscience at Carleton University and a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Royal’s Institute of Mental Health Research (affiliated with the University of Ottawa). She specializes in youth development, mental health promotion, and ecological approaches to behavior change, employing qualitative and mixed methods in community-based participatory research.
Her current research projects include examining the implementation of the Icelandic Prevention Model, studying pandemic experiences in outdoor learning environments, and evaluating peer support services for youth with complex needs. Dr. Halsall’s work emphasizes collaborative, realist-participatory methodologies to address youth well-being challenges.
