Dr. Tanvi Maheshwari is a Research Fellow at the Informal Cities Lab within the Department of Architecture at Monash University. Her research focuses on urban design, transportation planning, and transdisciplinary action research. She holds a PhD from ETH Zürich, a Master of Urban Design from UC Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Architecture from the School of Planning and Architecture, Delhi.
Key areas of expertise include mobility planning tools, scenario-based design, and adaptive urban transformation. She is a co-investigator on the 'Adaptive Mobility, Infrastructure and Land Use' project at Singapore-ETH Centre and previously served as Associate Director for Research at Future Cities Laboratory. Her work emphasizes collaborative approaches to address urban challenges through digital tools and futures studies.
Dr. Maheshwari has contributed to initiatives like the Citarum Action Research Program in Indonesia and co-founded the nonprofit arch i Platform in India. Her research bridges academic, industry, and community sectors to advance sustainable urban development and equitable mobility solutions.
