Tamura Turney

Tamura Turney is a Lecturer in the Department of Marriage and Family Therapy at the School of Psychology, Family and Community, Seattle Pacific University. She serves as a clinical supervisor and educator, mentoring emerging clinicians in their professional development.

Her clinical focus centers on adolescent/young adult identity formation, intergenerational family dynamics, and trauma-informed care, particularly addressing spiritual and sexual trauma. She integrates systems theory into her work with individuals navigating systemic ethical challenges and advocacy within healthcare and legal contexts.

Tamura has practiced as a marriage and family therapist and clinical supervisor in SPU's Student Counseling Center and Seattle-area primary care clinics. She mentors students on clinical skill development and systemic perspectives in therapy. Outside academia, she enjoys Seattle's cultural offerings, gardening, and outdoor activities.
